Baby Boomers are usually defined as the 80,000,000 Americans born between 1946 and 1964. This post war "prosperity" generation exerts profound influence on American culture, values and meaning. The Sinclair Institute, founded in 1991 and the creators of the award winning Better Sex Video Series, thinks physical relationship is the next thing to be "boomerized."
"This generation has realistic expectations about living longer healthier lives," explained Mr. Smith, "they will change what it means to be 'retired', 'active' and 'sexual' as they age."
Drugs and an increased willingness to seek assistance from health professionals are keeping baby boomers in the game sexually. The AARP study showed a doubling of the number of men using drugs to help with performance such as erectile dysfunction (ED). Books took a back seat to talking to health professionals in the updated study. "We've seen increased sales of our adult sex education DVD's over the same period as the study," shared Mr. Smith.
It was important to create an exciting series that could appeal to anyone. "Most of our management team are baby boomers, but we hate being grouped and named," said Mr. Smith "We aren't old we are just getting older," Mr. Smith joked, "our new Great Sex For A Lifetime series discusses wild positions, new sex toys and creative ways to stay in the game sexually and that sense of an expanding, never ending adventure is what it means to 'boomerize' sex."
